Washington - US president Bill Clinton sent a secret letter to Iranian President Mohammed Khatami asking for help in tracking down terrorists who bombed a US military base in Saudi Arabia, the Washington Post reported yesterday.
White House spokesman Mr Joe Lockhart confirmed the contact at a press conference yesterday, but declined to divulge the contents of the letter. "Diplomatic efforts, are in our judgment, best kept private," Mr Lockhart said.
