To say that Pokemon is pretty popular is like saying Bill Gates is pretty well off. Tales of kids begging, stealing and beating each other up for Pokemon cards are rife, so it's no surprise that a movie version has been rushed out to cash in on the craze. This soundtrack features the usual boy-bands, girl groups and solo poppets, including M2M, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, B*Witched, Billie and NSYNC; many of the songs are supposedly "inspired" by the movie, but the only thing inspired about Pokemon is its marketing, which has seen the cute little manga cartoon characters penetrate the psyche of a whole generation of kids.
