Rome - More than 100 priests and nuns held a candle-lit vigil in front of the US embassy in Rome yesterday, urging Washington to seek peace not vengeance after the devastating suicide attacks.

Holding banners reading "War is not the answer" and "Justice and peace without vengeance", the group from more than a dozen countries said the US risked causing more harm than good by waging a protracted war.
