Racing: Dermot Weld has pencilled in the Tattersalls Gold Cup as a possible starting point for stable star Grey Swallow. The five-year-old won the 10-furlong contest on his seasonal debut last season but he failed to figure in his four subsequent starts.

Weld had been looking to run the 2004 Irish Derby winner in yesterday's Dubai World Cup but a couple of setbacks ruled him out of the Group One event.

"I'm happy with him and he worked very well yesterday morning, the best he's worked this year," said Weld. "He had two hold-ups in the spring when I wanted to set him up for the Dubai World Cup - neither were were big problems but it's held me up for a while.

"The first time he had to have some antibiotics which kind of set him back and we had to shelve all the plans for him."
