Woman dies as two cars collide

An elderly woman driver was killed in a two-car collision at a cross-roads near Banagher, Co Offaly yesterday. The woman, believed to be from Roscommon, struck an oncoming vehicle at Taylor's Cross at around 4.45 p.m. She was taken to Tullamore General Hospital and died shortly afterwards. The male driver of the second car was unharmed.
