A woman in her 40s was killed when her car was in collision with a truck on the Dunleer by-pass in Co Louth shortly before 2 p.m. yesterday. The woman, understood to be a local, was dead on admission to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

A man in his mid-thirties was in a critical condition at St James's Hospital early today following a hit-and-run incident at the St Francis Park halting site, Churchtown, late last night.
