A 77-year-old woman was killed when she was struck by a car in Co Galway yesterday evening.
A Garda spokesman said the incident happened near the village of Menlough at 5.30 p.m. The woman, who has not yet been named, died at the scene.
Meanwhile an 87-year-old woman who was hit by a car on Taylor's Hill in Galway city on Monday evening died last night.
She has been named as Eitta O'Sullivan of Rackbarton, Salthill.
