A senior administrator with Dublin Waterworld Ltd (DWL), trading as the National Aquatic Centre, has claimed before the High Court that she was subject to bullying and harassment by senior managers after she refused a request to remove "certain documents".
Orla Scott yesterday secured an interim injunction restraining Dublin Waterworld Ltd from proceeding with a disciplinary investigation against her today. The interim order was granted by Ms Justice Mary Laffoy and applies up to tomorrow.
The order was sought by Conor Kearney, for Ms Scott. He told the judge that Ms Scott is employed as a senior administrator with Dublin Waterworld Ltd and she was asked in February 2003 "to remove certain documents" but had refused.
Ms Scott was then subject to bullying and harassment by senior managers, counsel said. Due to stress, she was out of work on sick leave for a time. When she returned, the company had sought to initiate a disciplinary process against her. Her personal e-mail account was accessed by somebody, DWL had said information was given to it on a confidential basis and it was now trying to use her personal e-mails to discipline her.
Mr Kearney said the Supreme Court will next week hear DWL's appeal against a High Court order for forfeiture of the lease for the National Aquatic Centre. If DWL loses that appeal, it will be insolvent, he said.
