A woman was killed and a man seriously injured in a three-car collision in west Cork yesterday evening.
The woman, understood to be in her late 50s, was in a car on the main Cork-Bandon road when it was involved in a head-on collision with another car near Innishannon.
A third car then crashed into the first two vehicles.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene while a man was seriously injured and was brought by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.
Gardaí have appealed to any witness to contact them at Bandon Garda station on 023-885 2200.
