A man suspected of shootings in Paris that left a photographer seriously injured in Paris two days ago has been taken into custody, the French prosecutor’s office has said.

A suspect “with a strong resemblance” to the gunman was arrested this evening, a spokeswoman for the office said.

The suspected shooter is also believed to be behind three other attacks around the city.

On Monday morning, a man opened fire at the headquarters of the Liberation daily newspaper, seriously wounding a 23-year- old assistant photographer.

Two hours later, the man was seen running from the La Defense business district after firing three shots at Societe Generale’s tower shortly after noon, according to the police.

Last week, he targeted the offices of BFM Television. Video-surveillance images showed a man of “European” origin, between 35 and 45, with glasses, a three-day stubble, greying hair, and a baseball cap.

He is shown threatening people in the lobby of BFM, walking toward the Liberation offices and waiting for a tram.
