A 13 year boy, charged with the murder of a 53-year-old Irish man in London has been remanded in custody to a youth detention centre.
The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before magistrates at Highbury Corner youth court this morning.
His parents sat in the well of the court, while the application from Crown Prosecution Service lawyer, Ellis Williams was heard by the magistrates, led by Charlotte Chamberlain.
The victim, Cobh-born Christopher “Jack” Barry, died after he was stabbed in the back as he and his partner tried to get into their flat block in Edmonton on Sunday evening.
Mr Barry exchanged words with a gang of youths after they tried to get into the complex to go a party at another flat.
