A 17-year-old boy, who used an incapacitant spray on a Brazilian during a traumatising robbery in Dublin, has been put on probation for 12 months and ordered to write a letter of apology to his victim.
The boy, who cannot be named because he is a minor, had pleaded guilty at the Dublin Children’s Court to robbery of the man, on the South Circular Road, on March 11th.
The man, who is in his early 20s, had only arrived in Ireland a few weeks before the incident. He moved out of the area because he was left in fear after being pepper-sprayed in the face by the boy before he was attacked by an accomplice and robbed of his wallet.
Defence solicitor Gareth Noble said the boy has expressed genuine remorse for his actions.
