Racing: Ascot Gold Cup winner Yeats has been handed top weight of approximately 9st 4lb for the Emirates Melbourne Cup on November 7th.
The Aidan O'Brien-trained five-year-old has been given 59kg for the two-mile feature at Flemington after also taking the Goodwood Cup on his last start.
Next best on 9st 2lb (58kg) is possible American raider Better Talk Now, winner of the Breeders' Cup Turf in 2004, while Godolphin's Cherry Mix has been given 9st (57kg).
Andrew Balding's Phoenix Reach, a disappointing last in the Arlington Million on his last start, has 8st 13lb (56.5kg) with the Alan Swinbank-trained Collier Hill just below him on 8st 11lb (56kg).
Geordieland, second behind Yeats at Goodwood, has 8st 7lb (54kg) with the George Margarson-trained Young Mick, who was third in the Ebor, allotted 8st 3lb (52kg).
The Luca Cumani-trained pair of Ebor second Glistening and Soulacroix have been given 8st (51kg) and 7st 13lb (50.5kg) respectively.
