Sir, – Your food and drink supplement (June 3rd) makes for salivating reading for many, and especially for the operators of the 100 establishments deemed by your food writers to be “the most exciting places to eat fabulous food”.
While I can personally vouch for the good food of some of the 28 restaurants in Dublin city which make the list, I can also vouch for some fabulous places to eat in Limerick city. However, not a single place there is deemed worthy of inclusion, despite it also being the third-largest city in the State. Cork city and Galway city each merit five nominations!
Your food writers cite the various post-Covid challenges facing the sector. For restaurants in Limerick city, and some other towns beyond the Pale, there is the further challenge of being written off by your paper’s culinary experts! – Yours, etc,
