Sir, — It is remarkable that two retired senior judges, of no little experience, should get it so wrong at the outset (What are former judges Frank Clarke and Peter Kelly thinking in taking Dubai roles? Opinion, July 29th). Happily, one has now had a rethink.
Why is it that the antennae of two seasoned and long-standing professionals in public life failed to understand the dangers of undertaking work in Dubai, and legal work at that, and the attendant reputational risks both to themselves and to Ireland’s international standing?
