A confession to make

Faithful hound

Sir, – Moira Cardiff tells us that, when a child, she put her pet labrador in the confessional after he had followed her into church, and heard the consequential din when the priest pulled back the screen from the other side (Letters, September 8th).

As someone who has always resented the notion of children being subjected to the medieval confessional process, I was glad to hear of an occasion when a dog collar was worn on both sides of the confessional. – Yours, etc,
