Public transport – we’re not there yet

A change of direction

Sir, – I need to go to Castleisland, Co Kerry, from Carrick-on-Shannon.

Since I’m alone, I would prefer not to drive, especially with the cost of diesel, but the alternatives are poor.

A journey that would take less than four hours by car would take eight hours to 10 hours by public transport and so would involve overnight accommodation at high prices.

When will public transport facilitate use from the west of Ireland to the southwest without going east? – Yours, etc,
