A chara, – In all the correspondence about mash, pandy, and other such words, I see no one has mentioned puck, the name used in parts of Leitrim for colcannon way back then. I only know it from a story the late Canon Frank Gilfillan used to tell about an incident in the 1940s when he was curate in charge of Jamestown, Co Leitrim. He brought the local branch of the Pioneers on an outing to Bundoran.
