Sir, – Yesterday morning, I arrived at the bus stop opposite the rugby stadium in Donnybrook at 6.45am, planning to catch the 145 bus to Heuston Station to catch the 7.20am Waterford train. However, the bus did not arrive until 7.15am. No taxi with its roof light “on” would stop when hailed.

He could usefully spend the time (four to five hours) on the bus perusing the data on breakdowns and delays experienced by the long-suffering public on this route.
