Sir, – Sean Byrne (Letters, October 31st) sets out a comprehensive criticism of Dublin City Council and its obligations to preserve the biodiversity of Bull Island. As pointed out the proposed “Discovery Centre” to be built will attract thousands of visitors. Is it now time to begin the process of regulating car access to Bull Island with a view to zero car access in the future?
Perhaps DCC could begin by tolling weekend traffic which has reached unacceptable levels. Alternatively, relocate the visitor centre to nearby St Anne’s Park. – Yours, etc,
