Sir, – As with most scandals in Ireland, a public inquiry has been called for in relation to alleged abuse at schools run by the Spiritan order.
I would agree that the seriousness of the situation requires this.
However, any inquiry should not be at the expense of the taxpayer but rather funded by the religious order (or orders) involved. – Yours, etc,
