Sir, – While I have no wish to make fun of the appalling housing crisis, I did note with some amusement that the Residential Tenancies Board figures for registration are significantly down.
Surely this is at least partly due to their terrible website. I tried to register on the new version some months ago and failed.
I even tried talking to what seemed like a bot as I could not get through by phone. Eventually, I sent a long email explaining the problem in July, to which I have had no response.
In the meantime, an automated reminder came to re-register. At that point, I printed the email, filled out the paper form and sent them a cheque, which has not been cashed, three months on.

Perhaps if the RTB could hire some tech staff, answer their phones and open their post, they might see the registration numbers increase again. – Yours, etc,
