Sir, – Now that Waiting for Godot auditions must be open to all genders (“Irish director’s all-male Beckett play cancelled in the Netherlands as only men could audition”, World, February 4th), does that mean the same issues for Little Women and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers? – Yours, etc,

Sir, – I see that a production of Waiting for Godot has had to be called off because only men could audition. Maybe this remarkable play could be rendered acceptable for our brave new world by changing the name of one of the principal characters to Estrogen. – Yours, etc,
