Sir, – Your feature article by Frank McDonald on the modern building at St Stephen’s Green in Dublin that once housed the headquarters of Anglo Irish Bank was accompanied by a photo that clearly demonstrates how the building doesn’t fit in with its Georgian neighbours on either side (“Anglo Irish Bank’s old Dublin HQ is due for demolition. We shouldn’t let this award-winner disappear”, Culture, April 26th).
I don’t care how many architectural awards this building has won. It is grotesque. Knock it down and replace it. The St Stephen’s Green area deserves a better building. – Yours, etc,
