Sir, – I often enjoy the offerings of your cartoonist Martyn Turner. His contribution of May 16th was no different but with only one problem. Contrary to media reports, the Irish Freedom Party organised no march to Mount Street nor did members participate in one.
What we did do on Saturday was organise a successful and indeed good-humoured rally against the imposition of dangerous and unnecessary anti-free speech legislation.
Personally, I’m of the view that scrapping the principles of equality of all citizens before the law and the presumption of innocence until proven guilty is no laughing matter. – Yours, etc,
