A welcome sight

A chara, – Dublin. Manor Kilbride. Portlaoise. Cullahill. Ennis. Bunratty. Dingle. Annascaul. Lispole. Straffan. Celbridge. A three-week summer visit home was stunningly framed by roadsides blissfully and mercifully left almost entirely to their own ecological devices. The result was stunning. Pinks, reds, purples, oranges, yellows, greens, blues, popping and permeating every single roadside that we drove down or past. In the battle against ecological ruin, this was a multicoloured chink of light, made even more satisfying by the fact that it was all taking place on home turf.

Kudos to the councils who not just let this happen, but facilitated it. The bees, birds, insects, and future generations thank you. – Yours, etc,
