Sir, – Over the last couple of weeks, I have attended the cinema with my family to see Oppenheimer, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One and, of course, Barbie. We enjoyed the experiences immensely but one thing about going to the cinema never ceases to amaze me. Why do so many people leave before the credits have rolled? Apart from the fact that movie credits can be very funny, informative and entertaining, leaving before they are finished always strikes me as being disrespectful to all the people who worked hard on the productions. It’s almost like running out of a play during the curtain call. We live in a fast-moving, stressful world, so taking a little time, at the end of a movie, to be present, to reflect and to appreciate the wonders of the art and magic of film-making is something to be cherished and so easy to do. – Yours, etc,
MARY CLARKE,
Dublin 3.
