Sir , – May I commend Aoife Moore on the articulate and interesting extract from her new book, The Long Game. Inside Sinn Féin (Weekend, September 2nd). However, in the first paragraph of the article there is a common journalistic error, namely that there were only two Bloody Sundays during the 20th century.
From my Junior Cert syllabus history course there were three, with the first Bloody Sunday of the 20th century taking place during the Lockout of 1913. A baton charge by the RIC left two dead and more than 300 injured.
