Sir, – In “Inflation climbs to 6.3 per cent as mortgage interest soars” (Business, September 8th), you present nine graphic symbols with their price increases over the past year. Four of the items are for alcoholic beverages: a can of cider, a can of lager, a pint of stout and a pint of lager. Has the meaning of groceries drastically changed over time, or am I simply not enjoying life? – Yours, etc,
