A chara, – Anne Baily calls for “small” nuclear reactors (Letters, September 18th). Fine. Leaving aside the planning kerfuffle, we know from a neighbouring island that nuclear reactors take about 20 years from sod-turning to first boiling the kettle. What shall we do in the meantime? Drink cold tea? There are many better options for generating power. – Yours, etc,
