Sir, – It is true that the growth and rebirth of trees are welcome and a joy to behold after the long dreary days of winter have passed (Letters, November 23rd).
However, when autumn arrives, nature presents us with a further perspective, when an amazing kaleidoscope of colour appears across our green and misty island with the “fall of the leaves” as is happening presently.
We cannot but rejoice in this symphony of colour when our trees take one last fling before settling down into winter sleep.
Of course, the downside is when the withered leaves fall and rest on the ground below. No blowers are needed – just wide rakes and strong-bristle brushes. – Yours, etc,
