Sir, – Contrary to Dearbhla Hoffman’s assertion (Letters, December 13th) “pigs in blankets” (plural) are sausages wrapped in bacon as opposed to gentrified sausage rolls.
Perhaps she has been advised by some swine of the American term “pig in a blanket” (singular) which does indeed resemble a sausage roll. – Yours, etc,
