Sir, – Kudos to JP McManus for his donation of “€1m to every GAA county board in massive boost to clubs” (News, December 14th). It feels good to be in such illustrious company in that I, too, support the GAA albeit indirectly through the exchequer.

Sir, – What a generous offer from JP McManus. As Dublin has too much money already, Mayo won’t win anything due to the curse and Limerick have had more than their fair share from JP, could Monaghan have the spare €3 million?
