Sir, – It sometimes seems as if we are surrounded by bad news.
Wars and persecution around the world dominate our headlines, while distressing events in our country often cause anguish and misery.
Yet we cannot allow ourselves to be swept away in a tide of depression by the actions of a few.
For every wicked or unscrupulous act there are a million moments of kindness. I have not been lulled into a false sense of security or ignorance but do feel the need to acknowledge the goodness I witness every day.
