Sir, - Marion Walsh (Letters, February 28th) asks why the proposed Metro from Dublin Airport does not go to Swords.
In fact it does. Metrolink and its predecessor, Metro North, have always been from Swords to the city centre via Dublin Airport.
A more interesting question would be if Metro North’s route alignment had received full planning permission in 2011, why did successive transport ministers decide to draw a new route alignment resulting in planning hearings in Metrolink being held in 2024?

Sir, – Why not save the Green, so loved by Dubliners, by terminating Metrolink at Connolly Station?
It provides mainline train, Luas, Dart and Busáras connections. Is it too simple? – Yours, etc,
