Sir, – Poor Bobby McDonagh and his obsession with the Brits (“Stop referring to EU as a ‘bloc’”, Opinion & Analysis, April 29th).
His latest broadside aimed at the country where he was once ambassador claims referring to the EU as a bloc is “divisive linguistic rot imported from Britain.”
He may wish to direct his opprobrium toward his beloved EU.
“The EU is the world’s largest trading bloc” has been proudly displayed on its own website, europa.eu, for many years. – Yours, etc,
