Department’s indecision is final

Sir, – In “RSA calls for emergency laws to double penalty points for speeding and mobile phone use” (News, June 4th), I read, regarding increasing penalty points for certain road traffic offences, that the Department of Transport has announced this had now been legislated for and would be implemented “in due course”.

This sort of decisiveness seems to be endemic in the public sector. – Yours, etc,
