Sir, – I commend Sarah Moss’s article “You’re so brave, people say, to cycle in Dublin” (People, June 8th).
As a motorcyclist of many years, commuting through my native city on a daily basis, many of the issues raised are unfortunately all too familiar to me.
Sadly, far too many of those safely ensconced in their metal cages have little heed for those outside propelled on two wheels or by foot.
We all need to recognise the rights of all to use the roads that we supposedly share. We need to resource the Garda appropriately and implement obvious technical solutions such as traffic-light cameras. What is it we are waiting for? – Yours, etc,
