Sir, – A number of candidates ran in two areas of a local authority in the recent local elections. If successful in both areas, they had it in their gift to co-opt a replacement in one of the areas.
While this is not illegal, it does seem unfair to other candidates and smacks of “gaming the system”.
The practice should be banned. – Yours, etc,
