Sir, – Conor Pope writes that the chief executive of the Health Insurance Authority, Brian Lee, says that health insurance, with 348 health plans, needs to be simplified (“Health insurance too complicated and risks overwhelming consumers, watchdog warns”, News, September 25th).
The Health Insurance Authority offers to compare health plans for consumers. But it only offers to compare three plans at any one time. Why only three? With AI and filter technology, it should be relatively easy to design a friendly solution for a consumer to compare all 348 plans and save money.
I suggest that the watchdog does this as step one in its simplification campaign. – Yours, etc,
