Sir, – Denis Walsh (“Wesley Joyce: His fall and rise again”, Sports Weekend, October 5th) and Malachy Clerkin (“I was living in this body that didn’t do what I wanted it to do”, Sports Weekend, October 5th) brilliantly capture the special qualities of two young, elite sportsmen. The willingness of Wesley Joyce and Cillian O’Sullivan to accept their situations, the limitations imposed as a result, and yet push for a return to the elite level is truly inspiring.
