Sir, – In the midst of a giveaway election manifesto similar to all other parties, Sinn Féin casually mentions that it oppose arms supplies to Ukraine so as not to escalate the conflict further. Either this is an attempt to equate the invasion of Ukraine with the suffering of civilians in Gaza, Lebanon and the West Bank or indicates cluelessness as to the current Russian drone and missile assault on power supplies throughout Ukraine.
For the third winter in a row, Ukraine’s power stations and electricity infrastructure are being hammered on the orders of Moscow. Would Sinn Féin prefer civilians in Ukraine be spared further suffering by freezing to death without the capability to defend themselves? – Yours, etc,
