Sir – The proposed tourist accommodation levy is a sensible and fair approach. Visitors rely on services funded by residents and businesses.
A modest, ring-fenced charge allows them to contribute, with revenues reinvested to maintain what attracts visitors in the first place and fund initiatives like Explore Fingal.
It should also be directed locally. Where councils, not central Government, are best placed to decide priorities, helping keep our communities good places to visit and good places to live. – Yours, etc,
