The Irish Times - Letters to the Editor.

Sir, – Louis Bielle-Biarrey, as he danced his way through the Leinster defence to score his second try for Bordeaux-Begles, brought to mind the famous quip by Mick English about Phil Horrocks-Taylor, who played outhalf for England:

“Horrocks went one way, Taylor went the other, and I was left holding the bloody hyphen.” – Yours, etc.

Ken Mawhinney,

Dublin 16.

Sir, – I know that it is all about money, but what kind of madness thinks that it is okay to play the finals of what should be a winter sport in 30 degrees in a country that has no rugby culture? A danger to the players, fans and the game in general. – Yours, etc,

John Rogers,

Rathowen,

Co Westmeath.
