Sir, - Reading Frank McDonald's article (Weekend, December 22nd) and his mention of the Ha'penny Bridge in the early 1950s "festooned with painted timber hordings advertising the likes of Holloway's Pills", I couldn't help thinking of the grotesque plastic hoardings that today adorn the magnificent railway bridges that traverse our beautiful city East of O'Connell Bridge. - Yours, etc.,
