Sir, – Thomas Ryan says that “black children are far more likely to fall victim to abortion” (Letters, May 15th). Would this have anything to do with the fact that in America if you are born black you are more likely to be poor, lack a college degree, be a victim of crime, be imprisoned and even executed?
Perhaps if the US addressed its very obvious racial inequalities within its capitalist society there would be far fewer abortions than is currently the case rather than trying to outlaw them through the judicial system. – Yours, etc.
