In a process of societal healing, Carles Puigdemont needs to show Solomonic wisdom and be prepared to share power with the unionist Ciudadanos party, on condition that they campaign together to change the Spanish constitution to allow for a regional referendum on further autonomy or independence. If, on the other hand, he forms a government with the other two independence parties, Catalonia is heading for more of the same divisiveness. – Yours, etc,
