Sir, – If any of your readers think that bedsits have been lying idle with no occupants for the last number of years, I can assure them this is not so.
I do not work with the homeless, but I do work in Dublin’s north inner city, and my observation is that bedsit buildings remain fully occupied.
I am of the opinion that almost no extra capacity will be provided for the very unfortunate from the “official” reintroduction of bedsits because bedsits never left Dublin housing stock.
Shame on our political class at this window-dressing exercise. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – I am just wondering how many of those who are opposing the restoration of bedsits will be sleeping in doorways tonight. I think the answer is obvious. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – Is bringing back bedsits, as a means of tackling the shortage of accommodation in the rental sector, the equivalent of reintroduction of the horse and cart to tackle M50 congestion? – Yours, etc,
