Madam, - We refer to the report by Frank McDonald in your edition of October 11th about the proposed "cathedral quarter" of Dublin.
While generally favourable to the idea, as Incumbent and Vicar respectively of St Audoen's Parish we cannot possibly consent to the "elimination" of St Audeon's Park.
This is the first time we have heard of the proposal. It may not be realised that this area is actually St Audeon's graveyard, which has been handed over to the City Council for safe-keeping and a place of burial of Dublin's citizens.
It has never been built on and nor should it be now. - Yours, etc,
