Madam, - With reference to Micheál Ó Nualláin's letter regarding CIÉ's use of the word "amach" (October 26th), be it known that "amach" - "immach" in Old Irish - literally means "into the plain" or "outwards", and therefore conveys with great accuracy the concept of an exit.
